Our Charity. Our Community. Our Nation.
Our Mission: We grant life-enriching wishes for abuse survivors and create global awareness of hidden psychological and financial abuse.
How You Can Get Involved
In collaboration with U.S. based 501(c)(3) non-profit partners, Keep Dreaming Big Project grants Wishes to enrich the lives of abuse survivors and families. Wish types are as unique as the survivors themselves.
We support spreading awareness of abuse and restoration through donations of the international bestselling book Healing from Hidden Abuse. We’ve partnered with an award-winning filmmaker to bring a cinematic glimpse into the life of a survivor of hidden abuse.
We facilitate national and international speaking events to bring global awareness of hidden psychological and financial exploitation. Keep Dreaming Big Project hosts continuing education seminars for licensed mental health professionals to enhance access to quality therapeutic services.
What We Do
Keep Dreaming Big Project desires to bring global awareness to hidden abuse in the form of psychological and financial exploitation. Hidden abuse involves psychological, emotional, and financial harm against a target of the abuse. It is a type of harm that impacts all income demographics, geographical locations, languages, and cultures. The cryptic nature of hidden abuse often goes undetected by even those closest to the victim. Adults, children, and teens can be targets of hidden abuse.
Keep Dreaming Big Project was co-founded by trauma therapist and international bestselling author Shannon Thomas. Ms. Thomas has worked with thousands of survivors of hidden abuse. The vision of Keep Dreaming Big Project came to life through this work. Keep Dreaming Big Project is governed by a five-member – all volunteer – Board of Directors from different professional backgrounds, including the medical field, entrepreneurship, financial sector, social work, and licensed mental health.
Life Enriching Wishes
Wishes have included annual family passes to the local zoo, replacement of a beloved musical instrument destroyed in a domestic violence episode, and establishing a community garden. Through our non-profit partner agencies, we grant Wishes as unique as the survivors who receive them.
Book donations of Healing from Hidden Abuse to local libraries help survivors access free resources. Many victims of psychological and financial abuse cannot purchase materials because of the control maintained by their abuser. We expanded our education campaign by providing two copies of Healing from Hidden Abuse to mental health professionals; one for their review and another to include as a resource for their counseling clients.
Through international and domestic community speaking events, Keep Dreaming Big Project spreads knowledge about hidden abusive relationship patterns and how to help those impacted by this form of harm. In addition, we desire to bring an enhanced understanding and education to the mental health profession. When survivors of hidden abuse seek counseling help, Keep Dreaming Big Project hopes to have a role in creating a well-informed network of counselors and therapists.
Become a Volunteer
As a U.S.-based, national charity, we love our Volunteer Advocates! One of the many ways Volunteer Advocates play an essential role within Keep Dreaming Big Project is by hosting fundraising events in their local area. Volunteer Advocates also help connect Keep Dreaming Big Project with potential new non-profit partner agencies for Wish requests and coordinate local speaking and book signing events for co-founder Shannon Thomas to attend in person.
M. Walker Education Scholarship
The M. Walker Scholarship provides a one-time $2,000 award for graduate students in a counseling or social work program, payable directly to an accredited U.S.-based university or college. Ms. Mary Walker’s memory will live on in the students who pursue the mental health field as their career of choice.
Keep Dreaming Big Project was co-founded by a licensed counselor, and as an organization, we are committed to supporting mental health professionals in their pursuit of helping survivors of abuse. KDBP provides continuing education credits, resources to utilize in client sessions, and complimentary copies of the international bestselling book, Healing from Hidden Abuse.

We’ve Raised Over $250,000
Keep Dreaming Big Project has truly committed donors, and we are incredibly grateful! Since our beginning in May 2019, we have created relationships with our donors who helped us thrive and continue assisting abuse victims through the global pandemic of 2020. Our donors are the foundation of everything we do, and we take stewardship of donations as our highest priority.
Helping Abuse Survivors All Over The World
Keep Dreaming Big Project’s co-founder, Shannon Thomas, is the author of the bestselling book, Healing from Hidden Abuse. The resource serves as the foundation for the work completed by our organization and translated into multiple languages. Hidden abuse cuts across all geographic lines, languages, and cultures. Survivors of abuse can access the book in their own language and societal nuances in Italian, Arabic, Russian, German, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Turkish, Hungarian, Slovakian, and Vietnamese, with more resources added each year. Every new language translation infuses knowledge of psychological and financial abuse within a different region and culture.
